Meet Dr. Michael Couchot…..

Dr. Couchot is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He attended Russell High School, Russell, KY, where he was involved in sports, including football and track. In 1983, Dr. Couchot attended Centre College, Danville, KY, where he played NCAA Division III football. After completing his undergraduate studies at Centre College in 1987, Dr. Couchot earned his dental degree at the University of Louisville where his academic career was distinguished by numerous awards and honors, including Alpha Omega Honors for graduating top in his class, and membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honors Society and Phi Kappa Phi National Honors Society. He earned his medical degree and completed a general surgery internship at the University of Louisville in 1998 and 1999, respectively.

Upon completion of his Oral & Facial Surgery training in 2001, Dr. Couchot returned to the Ashland area to begin private practice as Tri-State Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (serving Ashland, KY, Ironton, OH, and Huntington, WV). His special interests include dental implants, orthognathic surgery, dentoalveolar surgery and trauma and facial reconstructive surgery involving bone graft reconstruction. He has hospital staff privileges at King’s Daughters Medical Center and Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

Dr. Couchot is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association, Eastern Dental Society, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Kentucky Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Couchot enjoys his time outside his practice with his family.
